A Safe Haven of Faith, Learning, and Love in Tembisa
Founded to offer unconditional love and foundational education to children who have faced extreme hardship, Bana Ba Kgotso ("Children of Peace") stands as a beacon of hope in Gauteng's East Rand.
Where We Are & Who We Serve
Located in Tembisa on Gauteng's East Rand, our centre was established to intervene in the lives of orphaned and abandoned children who otherwise would slip through the cracks without food, early stimulation, or safety.
Today, early childhood development training is provided by 2 dedicated, selfless staff members who nurture every child intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally.
A Proven Track Record of Success
The centre takes immense pride in seeing children who were assisted by Bana Ba Kgotso go on to successfully complete primary school, matriculate from high school, and transition into meaningful employment and self-sufficiency.
Section 18A Certified
Bana Ba Kgotso holds a Section 18A Certificate, which means any donation received from a business in South Africa is tax-deductible — alongside our Level 1 B-BBEE (135%) recognition.
150+ Children Fed Daily
Many children in our township neighbourhood come from homes where a nutritious meal is not guaranteed. In addition to our full-time crèche students, our feeding program opens its doors to feed approximately 150 local children every single day.
Reliant entirely on donations of bulk food, maize, vegetables, and cooking essentials.
Serving the Elderly Community
We believe true community care honours our elders. Our staff and youth assist local elderly residents by cleaning their houses, standing in long clinic queues to collect chronic medication, and providing transport when they are frail.
Building intergenerational love and mutual respect across Tembisa.
Our Vision: Relocating to a Larger, Purpose-Built Facility
We urgently need more space to serve the growing number of children who need shelter, safety, and care. Our plan is to acquire a larger property with:
Better Living Quarters
Spacious, comfortable, and warm rooms for resident orphaned children.
Modern Classrooms
Dedicated early childhood learning zones with educational toys and tables.
Ablution Facilities
Clean, safe, running-water toilets and washing stations for children and staff.
